Barracuda Overview
Spam Filter: Barracuda Email Security Service
- You now will have two ways to review email caught in the spam filter: (1) quarantine summary emails; and (2) online portal.
-
Quarantine summary: Since this software is new to our environment, it will be more sensitive than our previous service until the AI learns our patterns and becomes “smarter” in its blocking functionality. Therefore, to start, you will be getting summaries 4 times a day, and we likely will step that down after acclimation to the tool. Note that each summary will be iterative since the summary before it; the email summaries do not aggregate the list of all emails that were blocked. To see a full list of your blocked emails at any time, you may use the portal.
-
Portal: Look for a welcome email and test your sign-in credentials. Your username and password are your Colony email address and Outlook password, respectively.
Barracuda Encryption
- This tool is very similar to the current Voltage setup. Recipients will need to create a login the first time they use Barracuda. If you have clients that are regular Voltage users, you may want to make them aware that we have switched tools and that they will need to set up new credentials.
- We will be pushing out an Outlook plugin, after which an “Encrypt Message” button will appear in your toolbar. To send an encrypted email, press “Encrypt Message” and then toggle to “Encryption On” (see below for screenshot).
- If you would like to remove the Voltage plug-in, please email me for instructions.
